On September 20, 2015 at 4:52 p.m., while visiting the Donjon de Ballon (72) during the Heritage Days, a witness takes a few photos of the place, including one of the landscape through the panes of a window, without noticing anything unusual. But, when viewing these photos once back home, he observes on the one showing the landscape the presence of three very sharp points of light, standing out against the blue sky, which he describes as follows: "I noticed on one of them 3 points of light in the blue sky. I therefore zoom in on the photo and to my great astonishment I see a formation of three sets of six points of light, each forming a hexagon in the photo." No other testimony was collected.
The series of photos analyzed (see investigation notes) shows reflections, in a pane of glass, of one of the groups of LED light fixtures present and lit in the room where the witness was when he took his photographs. An on-site investigation confirmed the existence of these light fixtures and made it possible to reproduce in a photo the effect observed by the witness (see GEIPAN photos).
Consequently, the case is classified as "A", confusion with the reflection in a pane of glass of light fixtures located behind the witness photographer.
