On October 8, 2015 at 5 a.m., a witness is intrigued by the presence in the sky of a strong light in a clear sky. He decides to take photographs and notices the presence of another object. Only one testimony was collected. The witness reports a very bright point to the East (a phone conversation with the witness will specify that he observes the phenomenon "below the Moon, on the left"). The many photos show motion blur, more or less significant despite the use of a photo tripod: the witness triggered by pressing the shutter button (without remote control or self-timer), which is enough to cause significant motion blur, due to the use of a long focal length (300 mm). On the uncropped photos, a few other bright points are noticeable, characterized without any doubt as the stars 31 Leo, Pi Leo, and HIP 48876 and 48734, which confirms that it is indeed Venus that is photographed. On the cropped photos (7298 to 7301) and enhanced, unfortunately not provided in full, a strange saucer shape is noted; if you look at the thumbnails of these photos, with an appropriate tool (e.g., Xnview photo software) that shows the original framing, you can see that these photos correspond to an off-centering of Venus in the image; the strange shape is perhaps a photographic artifact, called a "flare" or parasitic reflection, or else a very real lenticular cloud (Diagnosis ongoing with photo and weather experts).
