An open record of things people cannot explain

Terms

Short, because a long one would only be hiding something.

What this place is

A record of accounts people have written about things they could not explain, and a tool that looks for other accounts resembling yours. That is all it is. We do not tell you what happened to you, we do not confirm that anything is real, and we do not rule anything out. When we connect two accounts we show you the reasons, and you are free to disagree with them.

It is not advice

Nothing here is medical, psychological, legal, or safety advice. If what happened to you is frightening you, or if it involves your health or your safety, please talk to a doctor or to someone you trust. We are a record, not a service, and we are not qualified to tell you what your experience means.

Your account stays yours

You keep the copyright in what you write. By sending it you give us permission to publish it here, to include it in searches and matches, and to quote it when we write up a case. You can withdraw that at any time by asking us to remove it.

What you promise us

Moderation

A person reads everything before it appears. We will remove anything abusive, anything that names or targets a private individual, anything posted to sell something, and anything we believe to be invented. We will not remove an account for being strange, and we will not remove a reply for being sceptical. Both belong here. What we do not allow is mocking a witness.

Contacting other people

You are never given anybody's contact details, and you never give us the right to hand out yours. If you and another person both want to compare notes, the request goes through us, both of you have to agree, and the conversation passes through the site where it can be moderated. Either side can end it at any moment without giving a reason, and doing so is not held against you.

The engine can be wrong

The matching is statistical. It finds resemblance, not truth. Two accounts sharing five characteristics may still be two entirely unrelated events, and we say so on every page. Do not treat a match as proof of anything, including as evidence in any dispute. How the matching works

Availability

This is run by one person. It may be slow, it may be down, and features may change. We do our best, and there is no warranty beyond that.

Who runs it

Clouthier Simulation Labs, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada, operated by Kyle Clouthier. These terms are governed by the law of Ontario. There is no company standing between you and the person reading your account, which is either reassuring or alarming depending on your view.
