An account in Corrze, France

On March 2, 2014, between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM, a witness, while closing their shutters, observed a white luminous phenomenon moving slowly above the rooftops of the houses in the housing development. The witness took photographs before the phenomenon was hidden by trees. The observation lasted about thirty minutes. No other testimony was collected. The witness probably saw a light outside that surprised them that evening, enough to make them take out their camera. But the strangeness underlying the testimony (and which is very likely its origin) lies in the rectangular and overlapping character of the lights that the witness saw on the photos afterwards. However, the witness's photos showing these lights reveal a framing through a glass door and rectangular lights made up of reflections from the rectangular flash of the Minolta camera used. The light at the origin of the observation is practically not described by the testimony; the latter focuses on the rectangular strangeness that results from a photographic artifact. Consequently, GEIPAN concludes only on what is described and on the strangeness experienced by the witness, and classifies it as A: photographic reflection.
