On April 18, 2015 at around 11:30 PM, a motorist was alerted by his son in the back of the vehicle to the presence of a red light in the sky. Looking in the rearview mirror, he saw six or seven bright orange-red balls moving in formation and seeming to follow the vehicle. The witness stopped his vehicle and observed the progression of the phenomena, until complete disappearance except for one ball. He had time to take a few photos. The observation of orange balls crossing the sky in a few minutes, on a weekend night, strongly suggests Thai lanterns, probably released nearby at the end of a private party. The movement was observed from the Northeast toward the Northwest, which is consistent with the Northeast wind recorded at Le Mans on Météociel, which indicates a sustained NE wind.
