An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Drme, France

On January 1, 2015 at 4:25 a.m., witnesses observed the presence in the sky of about twenty glowing colored balls moving silently across the sky. Only one testimony was collected. The observation of orange balls crossing the sky in a few minutes, on a festive night, clearly suggests Thai lanterns, probably released nearby at the end of a private party, as is frequently the case on New Year's Eve. The movement was observed from North to South, which is consistent with the North wind recorded by Météociel in Orange. GEIPAN classifies this case "B": very probable observation of Thai lanterns. The videos made by the witness leave no doubt about this hypothesis. The first reported observation could also correspond to a festive object carried by the wind, but of a model less common than classic Thai lanterns.
