An open record of things people cannot explain

Photographed in Loiret, France

On September 6, 2015 at around 10:45 p.m., a witness observed from his garden a luminous point moving in the sky from south to north, which he first took for a satellite. The UAP stopped for a few seconds, resumed its course, then made a half-loop in the opposite direction. After another stop, the UAP disappeared at high speed. Only one testimony was collected. Of average strangeness, but of low consistency (single witness, no photograph, missing details), this case turns out to be a possible misidentification with the observation of an artificial satellite passing overhead of the witness, immediately followed by a meteor probably belonging to the Kappa Cygnids shower. The witness's lack of precision however prevents formally confirming this hypothesis (see the investigation report). The unusual and immediate sequence of a satellite pass and a meteor could have been interpreted by the witness as the movement of a single object. Moreover, the stops and rotations of the UAP described by the witness may be a misinterpretation of the observation, caused by a particularly uncomfortable observation position, since it took place overhead. This case is classified B, probable misidentification with a satellite coinciding with the observation of a meteor.
