On March 7, 2015 at around 1:35 a.m., a motorist and his passenger were intrigued by a luminous object moving in the sky. The phenomenon was first seen while driving on the D37, then the motorist stopped on the emergency lane and the observation lasted 3 to 4 minutes. The passenger took a photograph with a camera. No other testimony was collected. The driver states at the beginning of the questionnaire that he observed the UAP on his left, while driving on a straight line, and that the UAP began to move (to the right) when he took a curve (to the left). This well-known phenomenon is a perceptual illusion created by the movement of witnesses observing a stationary object, far away and without reference points, particularly at night. The object in fact does not move at all but seems to do so according to the movements of the vehicle. This is confirmed when the witnesses decide to stop on the side of the road to observe better. The UAP then "freezes," since the witnesses are no longer moving. Given the elements collected in the investigation report (attached document), namely: - the shape, color, brightness, and apparent size. - the identical azimuth and height. - the proven illusion of movement. - the proven "micro-nystagmus" effect. - the probable disappearance behind clouds. We can conclude that the case concerns the certain observation of the star Capella combined with an illusion of movement and a physiological micro-nystagmus effect. The star probably disappears masked by a bank of clouds. This case is to be classified as "A" as an observation of the star Capella. One may be surprised by the strong distortion between the witnesses' account and the trivial explanation given. The key to this misunderstanding lies in the incorrect estimation of the distance of the phenomenon: as it appears to the witnesses above the water tower, it is immediately interpreted as an object fairly close to the ground; its apparent movement on the horizon is then perceived as real movement. Finally, the variations in light intensity, probably due to the invisible cloudy veil, are interpreted as moving away or approaching.
