Red lights in Seine-Saint-Denis, France
On February 8, 2015, between midnight and 12:20 a.m., a witness sees through his window, for barely 10 seconds, a red, wavering glow, moving silently horizontally, from right to left. The object suddenly changes direction and then disappears very quickly.
The observation of a red light less than 30 meters away crossing the witness's field of view at constant altitude in less than a minute, on a weekend night, strongly suggests a sky lantern, carried by the wind, probably released nearby at the end of a private party.
The movement is described by the witness as "from the Southwest to the Southeast." In fact, after checking with the witness, the witness was looking toward the West-Southwest (see photo): the movement from his right to his left is rather N-NW to S-SE, which is consistent with the north wind recorded at Roissy.
