On August 30, 2014 at around 11:40 PM, several people observed a very large number of luminous objects (about 70), shimmering, moving silently in the night sky. All the shimmering lights followed the same direction and disappeared at the zenith. Only one testimony was collected. The witness tried to take a photograph with his mobile phone but without success. Typical testimony of an observation of a release of lanterns: "It was a bit as if a large number of stars had decided to travel in a group in the sky." "Their trajectory, heading toward the North, seemed to be directed by leading objects. The other objects followed, all of it forming a coherent whole, which really looked like a flotilla." Indeed, the whole follows the wind current, which in the mountains can be winding. The general trajectory is compatible with a rather weak North wind recorded nearby (see the weather on Météociel). It is summer, a weekend night in holiday places: all of this is conducive to festive events. The lights of the lanterns are flickering and can also suggest "Morse signals."
