A low hum in Northern Ireland. County Antrim BT39

It is a low frequency sound like a fan going in the distance or a diesel engine iddling. I only hear it indoors. I cannot hear the noise outside and I have turned off electrical supply, water supply (in the house) and wifi - the noise still continues. My conclusion is that there is a low noise outside which is being amplified through our air exchange system making it audible at a low frequency indoors. My 46 year old husband and 16 and 18 year old sons cannot hear the noise.
