Low, constant, almost pulsing humlike that of the background engine noise of the Enterprise on Star Trek: TNG or the 'glowing' hum of the nuclear reactor on the Simpson's; a little rapid flicker or flux in pitch through a second here or there of a constant hum. Moved into house in 2018, have heard sound regularly at location, several times per week. Summer with windows open, or winter with house closed up. As an experiment, I shut off the entire electricity to the house in the dead of winter to remove all background noise to total quiet. Sound was plainly audible to me equally inside and outside the house. Hum is even heard with hands tightly plunged over my ears. It's like a vibration in my skull. There is no known large industry nearby; nearest turnpike is 3-4 miles away (and sometimes audible and discernible as a separate sound). One of the times the sound was most notable was noticed waking at dawn on a Sunday morning during a major snowstorm, when any industry, construction, or highway traffic is typically non-existent or minimalas well as the near foot of fresh snow absorbing sound. The hum was very noticeable. My girlfriend cannot hear this noise at any time. The sound seems to fully surround outside, but with standing on one side or the other of the house, it sounds strongest in a SW or S direction. Seems to be ground level or from within the ground, rather than above in the air.
