A low hum in Charente-Maritime, France

On March 22, 1979 at around 9:25 PM, a motorist and his passenger saw a dazzling light. For 2 to 3 minutes these witnesses were able to observe at a distance of 100 meters an object shaped like an "orange slice" with a flashing light on the left side as well as a row of spots of different colors. This object then moved quickly toward the southwest. A distant humming noise was heard. Photos were taken by one of the witnesses but were never brought to the gendarmerie. No other information was collected on this phenomenon, for which we lack information.
