A triangle shape in Gard, France
On August 11, 2015 at 1:15 PM, a family is intrigued by the silent passage in the sky of two black boomerang-shaped devices with the front of a triangle. The devices disappear quickly, hidden by trees. The trajectory of the first device was straight, and the second one suddenly changed direction. No other testimony was collected.
The weather that day, recorded at Nimes Garons, is unusual: a wind shift is observed, going from the North in the morning to the South in the afternoon. The moment of the observation falls right in the middle of this reversal, making it impossible to determine the local wind at that precise moment (see the Meteociel record).
The boomerang shape and the non-linear trajectory suggest a kite or a remote-controlled model airplane or drone (See a video of a craft with this shape: Drones or luminous flying wings).
The local environment (residential area) seems very unsuitable for flying a kite, especially if the wind is unstable.
There remains the hypothesis of the remote-controlled flying wing, which seems compatible with the observation, but which GEIPAN has no means to verify without other testimony, nor photo/video.
