A triangle shape in Pyr�n�es-Orientales, France
On July 26, 2014 at 11:10 PM, a couple observed from their garden the silent passage of 3 luminous points of white color. These three points form a triangle. Three minutes later the couple sees the same thing again under the same circumstances but farther from their position. The movement is always in the direction of the S-W. Only one testimony was collected.
The witness very likely saw Thai lanterns. Indeed, the shape, the color, the configuration and trajectory in the sky indicate a release of lanterns, and all the more so since the observed direction of movement (toward the South-West) matches the wind direction recorded that evening in the region (see the weather).
The date on a weekend and/or during summer is usual for festive lantern release events. Finally, an observation of the same type and supporting a Thai lantern hypothesis was made at the same time nearby (see ovni66).
Consequently, GEIPAN classifies this case as B: probable Thai lanterns.
