Pilot witness in Yvelines, France
On April 15, 2012 at 10:31 PM, a witness observed in a clear sky a stationary object, then moving from West to East at low altitude. A dull sound was heard. The object passed over the building and the witness lost sight of it. The short observation nevertheless gave the witness time to take a video with his mobile phone. No other testimony was reported.
In all likelihood, this testimony seems to be the result of a misidentification with the passage of an airliner approaching Roissy airport. The strangest thing in this observation case being the witness's confusion: living on the axis of the Roissy runways, he must be accustomed to the heavy air traffic bound for this international airport, although only part of this traffic flies over his place of residence, located 50 km from the runway threshold.
The photo and video documents could have helped to investigate further; the witness did not transmit them directly but shared them via online services. These documents are no longer accessible today and could not be exploited.
