On December 10, 2011 at 4:10 PM, a motorist on the A16 coming from Paris and near Froissy noticed in the stormy sky "numerous very powerful lights above the horizon." All of these lights seemed to come from a triangular shape rising rapidly into the black clouds before reappearing and then quickly disappearing due north. According to the witness, several other vehicles slowed down during the observation. However, GEIPAN received no other testimony. Of average strangeness, of weak consistency as it stands (single witness, uncertain observation location and viewing directions), the hypotheses considered (reentry of space debris, Thai lanterns) are not coherent enough with the observation report for them to be retained. Pending any further testimony, this case is classified as C due to lack of information.
