Police witness in Charente, France
A witness reports an observation that took place on August 15, 2009 at 1:15 PM from the garden of his home. He saw pass in the sky and along a straight trajectory, an ovoid shape of dull brown color. The phenomenon was moving from East to West in the direction of Cognac. No noise was heard during the observation.
No other testimony was reported on this phenomenon.
The hypotheses of a passing airplane or helicopter were ruled out by the witness and could not be verified with air traffic control due to the late receipt by GEIPAN of the police report.
Several other hypotheses were considered for this atypical case, even the hypothesis of very close objects: rugby ball, clay pigeon shooting, frisbee, model aircraft, but these do not match the testimony (the phenomenon having passed clearly above the rooftops).
