Indre-et-Loire, France · 2009-05-30 · from the GEIPAN archive
On Saturday, May 30, 2009, at around 2:50 a.m., a witness on their terrace observes for 3 seconds the rapid and silent passage of an object made up of three orange points of light forming an equilateral triangle. The witness distinguishes between these points an orange halo but of weaker intensity. No other testimony is collected. This case is weakly strange given its very short duration and its straight-line trajectory, but the testimony is on the other hand very consistent: the witness is an experienced observer, very precise when they can be (direction, wind speed) and refrains when they cannot. The testimony has several characteristics of bolide (fireball) testimonies, but not enough to be able to assert that it was one. No confirmation within the BOAM database has been provided. This case is classified as C for lack of other independent testimonies and cross-checks.
