A witness reports an observation made during the night from Sunday to Monday, July 14, 2008 (between midnight and 12:05 a.m.) in a clear and cloudless sky. He observed above his home the silent passage from southwest to northeast of a large dark triangular shape bounded at each end by round, non-blinking lights, large in size and yellow-orange in color. The witness goes out into the street but the UAP has disappeared. Only one testimony was collected.
Given the following objective elements:
- good weather, good visibility, dark night.
- weak wind, trajectory of the UAP(s) consistent with the direction of the local wind.
- short observation duration.
- several large lights seen by the witness with the perception of a single object.
- dark orange color, rather moderate light intensity of the UAP.

It must be concluded that the witness very probably observed several Thai lanterns (or festive glowing balloons) carried together by the wind and giving the impression of a single same object, lanterns launched either from Saint-Malo itself, or from Dinard or one of its beaches on a summer Sunday evening, the eve of a national holiday.
