Red lights in Moselle, France
On May 11, 2008 at around 10:50 PM, two witnesses observed the high-speed passage across the sky of a dark triangular-shaped mass with fixed and flashing white, green, and red lights. During the observation, which lasted several dozen seconds, a slight low-pitched sound was heard.
This old observation gave rise, in addition to the main testimony, to several other testimonies following the publication of the facts in the press.
Finally submitted for analysis to the college of experts working with GEIPAN, this case, with a low level of strangeness, is classified as B, as the probable observation of an airplane, a hypothesis mentioned by one of the spontaneous testimonies.
This case is a typical case of inversion/confusion in the description of an airplane's lights (mistaking flashing lights for fixed white, green, and red ones).
