Pulsing light in Pas-de-Calais, France

This case, formerly named PARCQ (62) 1981, was recently re-examined (see the document Investigation Notes). On August 11, 1981, around 1 a.m., a farmer driving his tractor in a field observed balls of red and white color blinking in the sky. First stationary, these balls moved slowly from North to South. Panicked, the witness went home, where he continued to see these lights. The gendarmerie investigation did not find any other witnesses or traces that could explain this phenomenon. This case has little substance (single witness, brief testimony collected several days after the facts, no field investigation), and the description of the observed UAP is imprecise. The sincerity and credibility of the witness have never been questioned. The described phenomenon shares some common characteristics (observation duration, shape, color) with the Moon, possibly hidden by clouds. It is noted that the Moon was present in the sky at the time of observation, but is not mentioned by the witness. However, the testimony provided lacks the details necessary to formally validate this hypothesis. The phenomenon also shows certain aspects of luminous phenomena linked to thunderstorm activity. Fatigue after a long day of work and the panic felt by the witness may have significantly disturbed the witness's perception or memories. In the current GEIPAN classification, this case of average strangeness is classified as UAP C, due to a lack of reliable data and cross-checks.
