A low hum in Keene, NH 03431

Dull Hum The hum sound has been present the entire time I've owned this particular home. It sounds like a truck idling in my driveway and disrupts my sleep. My bedroom is on top of granite ledge, with only a crawlspace, whereas the rest of the home has a basement below. I own another home and can hear the transformer (or at least I believe it's the transformer) which is just outside and very close to the house. In each instance, the sound is more noticeable at night or when I'm alone and there is no other noise in the house. I feel the transmission of the sound may be conducted or amplified by the relationship between the granite and the transformers and/or electricity supply.

Low frequency hum, always same frequency, I'd estimate around 50hz (at least my perception). I only hear it at/in my home, if I'm at another location, I don't think I've ever heard of it.
