both described a low hum
Clark County, Camas · 2019-05-24 · from the WORLDHUMMAP archive
it sounds like a diesel engine idling outside I literally was awoken in the middle of the night to what sounded like a semi-truck idling outside of our house... the sound is a vibrating noise. I searched everywhere and couldn't find the source of the noise... I go outside and cannot hear the noise. I go upstairs the noise intensifies, especially in the south facing rooms. We live on a hill overlooking a valley. There are power lines cross the bottom of our acreage. We've lived here for 9 years and I've never had anything like this happen. Now that it started it won't stop. Trying to go to sleep at night is challenging to say the least.
What they reported
First noticed: 2018
Pitch: 175Hz Sine - with volume turned way up this most closely matches my 'hum', however what I hear is still deeper 'vibration'.
Loudest: During the night
Where: Indoors
Symptoms: Insomnia, Sense of vibration, heart palpitations
Changes with weather: Doesn't seem to, but I will make note as the weather changes.
