Hovering in Haute-Marne, France
On August 20, 1978, from about 10:50 PM to 11:15 PM, 5 military personnel observed the passage and hovering of an object above a building that intrigued them. Three luminous points were first seen coming from the East and flying while constantly changing their arrangement. Then, for two minutes, the points merged into a single orange-colored one above a building. Finally, the object disappeared toward the North in a progression punctuated by sudden stops and accelerations. It was lost from sight due to its distance. No noise was heard during the observation. The witnesses state that they could not mistake this nocturnal light observed for a star or a known aircraft. No other observation was recorded in the district that night.
