Hovering in Somme, France
Recent testimony (21/11/2010) of an old observation (21/09/1952).
The witness, then a child, was returning from vacation in his parents' car, when they were stopped by another motorist at the side of a road. Very close by, a circular craft of metallic gray color was hovering above a field at about 15m altitude. The craft suddenly started up, then came back down to its initial position and left again toward the clouds.
No other testimony was collected on this phenomenon.
This old case of a very strange observation was submitted to Geipan in 2010. The account does not correspond to any of the classic misidentifications. An investigation would be very difficult; since this case is part of the beginning of the UFO wave of the 50s, GEIPAN publishes it as is without investigation, so that it can possibly be compared with other similar observations.
This case, from a single witness, reported 58 years after the facts, is classified "C" for lack of information.
