Moving in formation in Isre, France

On June 10, 2017, starting at 10:30 PM, a couple (T1 and T2) observed from their terrace two bright, shimmering points in the sky. Observation with binoculars showed a spherical shape and a gyroscopic effect. The two UAPs were also observed with a telescope. The witnesses then observed two other spheres in another direction, as well as two or three points near the first two. As the situation did not change, the witnesses stopped observing around 11:15 PM. At 11:30 PM, the witnesses decided to observe again, but nothing was visible. The observation was repeated the next day at the same time and under the same conditions. On June 12, the witnesses repeated their observation, but nothing more could be observed. Of low strangeness and good consistency (two witnesses), this case turned out to be a misidentification with stars from the constellations Scorpius and Aquila, perfectly visible in a clear sky (see the investigation report). The position of these stars relative to landscape features, as well as their configuration relative to each other, indeed corresponds perfectly to that of the UAPs. The strangeness for the witnesses resulted mainly from the fact that they were "abnormally shimmering with colors (green, red, and white) toward the South. These points seemed fixed but animated in themselves." The shimmering effect is perfectly explainable, because these celestial bodies were then close to the horizon. The description of the elements visible through binoculars and telescope corresponds perfectly to that of celestial bodies observed with unfocused devices. The fact that the UAPs were seen two nights in a row, at the same times and under the same conditions, is perfectly characteristic of an astronomical misidentification; the lack of visibility on the third day can be explained by a change in temperature greatly reducing atmospheric turbulence and therefore the shimmering. The witnesses did not find this star configuration during their later search using an astronomy tool because they had memorized UAP heights in the sky (45 to 50 degrees) largely overestimated compared to what they themselves had noted near the height of the treetops (10 to 15 degrees). The perception of movement of stars in the sky varies depending on their position in the vault; the witnesses most likely compared the movement (East-West) of the source stars of the UAPs with that of much higher stars in the sky, giving the former an impression of immobility. All the noted strangeness finds an explanation. The case is classified as A, misidentification with stars from the constellations Scorpius and Aquila.
