Moving in formation in Seine-Maritime, France
On April 16, 2014 at around 9:30 PM, a witness observed from his home three luminous objects in the sky (between the constellation Boötes and Virgo) moving in formation before disappearing. A few seconds later, the witness observed a UAP resembling an atmospheric reentry. The total duration of the observation is estimated by the witness at between 30 and 50 seconds. Only one testimony was collected.
Of medium strangeness and consistency (single witness, but precise report), this complex observation case turns out to be a misidentification with a particular trio of satellites: a triplet of Chinese military satellites Yaogan 17 (see investigation notes).
The UAP indeed shows all the typical characteristics of such a triplet: luminosity, visual appearance, short visibility due to a flash, trajectory and timing perfectly consistent.
The last part of the observation, not very strange, is explained either by a meteor, or by the flash of the Iridium 40 satellite that occurred that evening in Petit-Quevilly.
It is not the witness's visual perception that is at fault, but the interpretation the witness makes of his observation through his feeling (observation of a particular type of satellite, simultaneity of two different phenomena).
