The questionnaire testimony describes the observation of several bright points (through binoculars, then with the naked eye) of oblong shape and dark color. The characteristics of the observation as well as the date (Sunday morning in July) suggest a formation of party balloons lit by the sun. The direction taken by the first object (to the left of the witness who is looking south, therefore direction toward the east) and then by the other objects is compatible with the wind direction at the time of the observation. The impression of a "gray trail" described by the witness is surely due to visual persistence. The case is classified as B, as the probable observation of balloons.
