A triangle shape in Is�re, France
The witness, woken up by the rain, goes out into his yard and observes a silent triangle, dark in color, with a luminous outline. The object gains altitude and blends into the clouds.
The described observation does not correspond to any known phenomenon. Since this observation does not suggest any of the usual misidentifications, GEIPAN commissioned an investigator to go interview the witness on site, but the witness did not follow up on this investigation proposal.
Because the observation is short and took place in the middle of the night, upon the witness's awakening, a possible explanation could be a "hypnopompic" hallucination (which occurs upon waking); see at the end of the page of the article: Hallucination). But the witness indicates that, before getting up, he was already fully awake.
One could also think of a retinal persistence phenomenon if the witness turned on a light (neon tubes?) between his bedroom and the yard.
