Pilot witness in Deux-S�vres, France

On June 12, 2013 at 8:40 a.m., a witness and his son, on their terrace, hear a succession of detonations and see in the sky a dark oval object whose rear becomes bright with each detonation. This object flies over the village in a straight line. The UAP is lost from sight behind an agricultural building. Only one testimony is collected. The meteorological data collected show overcast weather, with a generally low ceiling, with a weak wind blowing generally from the south and average visibility (see the investigation report). This testimony is of low consistency: not very precise or detailed, and moreover lacking the essential and necessary data for the rest of the study. Single eyewitness having testified and no photo or video documents. The observation could be strange, however, too many inaccuracies and gaps in the testimony prevent judging its strangeness in a truly valid way. After analyzing the helicopter hypothesis, put forward by the gendarmes, given the elements collected in the remote investigation and the lack of angular information on the size of the UAP, no hypothesis can be clearly confirmed. GEIPAN unfortunately did not process this file quickly enough to be able to check air traffic in time. This case is classified in category "C" due to lack of information; the significant lack of elements and cross-checks does not allow establishing a solid opinion.
