A low hum in England, Doncaster

It's a deep, rumbling sound that is similar to a running diesel engine, or music with a deep bass being played. Although it helps to play music/put on a fan to drown out the hum, putting my fingers in my ears or using wax earplugs (noise reduction ear plugs) only seems to increase the sound - perhaps because it drowns out all other sounds. I use wax earplugs regularly when I sleep. Also, the hum makes me feel like the body is vibrating - especially when it's extra strong. Please, please continue to look into this. This has caused me so much loss of sleep and anxiety. Also, both Dudley and Doncaster (where I've heard the hum) are around old mining areas. Doncaster is surrounded by several power stations, such as Ferrybridge.

What they reported

First noticed: 2015

Pitch: 110 Hertz

Loudest: Equal night and day

Where: Indoors

Symptoms: Ear discomfort (pain, fullness, throbbing);Insomnia;Anxiety

Changes with weather: Sometimes I've noticed a seeming connection between it being windy and the hum appearing. And yet, that has not always been the case, so I don't know if there's any correlation. I've also noticed that the hum tends to show up more frequently when the weather gets colder. I wonder sometimes whether it's the local power station/gas station that's pumping extra power/gas to the surrounding area because of the temperature drop.
