Sounds like a Diesel engine idling off in the distance, it is faint but constant and it will also fluctuate wooo...wooo... woooo.. My house is built on ledge rock overlooking Lake Superior. Im wondering if the combination of the Great Lake and ledge rock acts as an amplifier. I can only hear the sound inside my home that is built into the ledge rock. If I go outside I cant seem to hear or feel the sound as easily. I have turned off all the power to my home so I know it isnt something mechanical in my house. I seem to be able to hear the hum better than my wife.
