A low hum in Everywhere I go - England, Scotland

low, steady background rumble I wonder whether my tinnitus hiss originated from computer cooling fans, and the ticking from my bedside clock, and the Hum from 50 Hz A/C circuits. I have heard the Hum in middle of flat calm seas, but also correctly located a distant large vessel emerging over the horizon.
