A low hum in Australia, SouthWest Region (Ex-Perth)

A low sound similar to a diesel powered at a distance at 20 to 30 Hz I moved from Perth suburbia to a large farm in a rural area in April 2013; it was then that I became aware of the 'hum' which appeared to have no point of origin, was not confined to one particular location, and noticed that it could be felt as well as heard much in the way that a piece of distant heavy machinery might be observed. There is no machinery operating nearby, nor in other places, on a 24 hour basis.
