low humming like trains running off in the distance From 1990 - 2015 I lived a mile away from my current home and never noticed a hum. The hum noise literally began the day I moved into a newly constructed home in Nov 2015. Thinking this was electrical related I have had the power company come out and replace the transformer in front of the house resulting in no change in the noise. They also inspected the wiring panel and circuit panel and found nothing out of the ordinary. I have also gone through the entire list of plumbing possibilities (bad toilet valves, humming valves from street supply, etc.) to no avail. I have even gone around the entire home with all power and water off with a stethoscope trying to identify the source to no avail. It is everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
What they reported
First noticed: 2015
Pitch: 25 Hertz - Square Wave
Loudest: Equal night and day
Where: Indoors
Symptoms: Insomnia, Sense of vibration, Anxiety
Changes with weather: Sometimes but not consistently
What stood out: a low hum
