Low pitched rumble like a distant diesel engine It's clearly related to my tinnitus. I have high pitched ringing in both ears. I have "the hum" in the right ear only. It comes and goes, usually coinciding with right ear high pitched tinnitus. The hum, however, is quite a bit more irritating. Insomnia has been the result of quiet house at night. I now listen to podcasts withheadphones to fall asleep. I am considering looking into noise canceling hearing aids.
