An account in Finist�re, France

On March 18, 1979 at around 9:15 PM, a female driver and her passenger saw a dark object, fluorescent gray in color, shaped like a rocket, three meters above the expressway. This silent object was moving slowly northward. The car passed quickly under the object. On the way back at around 9:45 PM, the same driver saw, at roughly the same spot, a flat wing of 3 square meters above the expressway. She described the object as made of a gray metal lattice a few centimeters thick, and the whole thing seemed to have an undulating movement. The object, flying over the car, stopped 3 or 4 meters in front of her vehicle. Impressed, the driver accelerated to pass quickly under the object without hearing any particular noise or seeing any lights. No source of heat seemed to come from the object. These observations lasted only a few seconds in poor weather conditions (continuous rain at night) and near the Brest-Guipavas airport. No trace was found by the gendarmerie, and no other information was gathered on this phenomenon, which remains unidentified.
