On January 19, 1979, at around 6:30 p.m., two motorists noticed in the sky two white lights of high intensity as well as a red and orange glow coming from an object they could not identify. A movement toward the southeast was observed while no noise was heard. No other testimony could be collected. During the investigation, it was established that training flights of a twin-engine aircraft had taken place on January 19 between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. This aircraft had two powerful searchlights at the front, and U-turns had been performed over the area in question.
