Red lights in Ni�vre, France
On October 30, 1978 at around 2:30 a.m., two female campers, half asleep, heard a whistling sound and then observed a red glow from inside their tent for 15 to 20 seconds. At the same time, they had the impression that the ground was warming up. An hour later, a new whistling sound was heard by these campers, who were not used to nighttime noises in the countryside. The girls did not look outside their tent. At daybreak, they noticed a burned area on the ground a little further away and thought that a craft may have parked at that spot. The gendarmerie investigation found no other witness who had heard these suspicious sounds or seen these glows. However, one witness stated that a year earlier, at that spot, he had burned wood from clearing the hedge and the bank bordering the meadow: two other locations of the same type are also found along the extension of the hedge.
