An account in Rhne, France

On Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 9 p.m., a witness is intrigued by the presence in the night sky of a very bright and stationary UAP. The witness describes a blinking object, circular with kinds of long filaments. He observes the phenomenon for 40 minutes, and takes a video. The object disappears hidden by a cloud. Three family members are witnesses but only one testimony is collected. The testimony is clearly an observation of Venus. The witness himself refers to Venus. The intensity only seems stronger to him and he distinguishes filaments around it. It is verified that in the direction of the observation given "toward the Montchat neighborhood," i.e., about 280°/290° azimuth, Venus is indeed around 280° and at a height of ~10° (the witness indicates 10° to 15°). This proximity leaves no doubt. If the UAP were not Venus, it would have had to be noticed by the witness near the UAP at some point or another during this long observation where the clouds in the direction of the UAP are transient (as shown by the account and the photo). It is common that an intensive observation of Venus gives impressions of ray jets, here of filaments. Consequently, GEIPAN classifies the case as A: Venus.
