On Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 5:00 AM, a witness is intrigued by the presence in the sky of a very bright fixed phenomenon. The witness describes a white bilobed UAP with a red dot in the middle and notes that, apart from the Moon, no star is shining in the sky. Only one testimony is collected. What is described by the witness probably corresponds to the observation of Venus. It is normal that between 5 AM and 6 AM in June, Venus is the only star visible in the dark sky. Venus is in the East, the witness mentions SE without conviction but indicates that the Moon is well to the right of Venus and according to "a vertical line of 45°", which is consistent with their respective positions. It is also classic that Venus produces a non-point-like glow (here an effect of red lobes) and polychromatic. This results from the atmospheric effect (diffracted light rays). It is not possible to firmly confirm this hypothesis. Indeed, the testimony is very imprecise, made 6 months after the observation. The witness did not feel the need to note the end of the observation (stopped observing after 5 minutes), nor even to take a photo, which reflects, in addition to the delay in reporting, a rather weak perception of strangeness (during the observation). Consequently, GEIPAN classifies the case as B: Venus.
