On December 21, 2014 at 9:09 PM, a witness on his balcony facing the ocean is intrigued by a luminous phenomenon floating above the ocean. He looks at this glow through binoculars and makes out a dark object with a lower part shimmering with an orange light. The witness takes photographs that do not capture what he observes through the binoculars. At 10:15 PM, the craft glided silently in a southwest direction. This testimony is of good consistency: precise and accompanied by two original photographs, but coming from a single witness. Given the elements collected (see the investigation report), namely: - UAP observed near the horizon. - Visual appearance similar to that of a ship. - Observation of the green starboard navigation light. - Observation of the ship's reflections, possibly of the decks, on the water. - Line of sight directed toward a busy maritime area. The observation is not very strange because the UAP is ultimately ordinary, both in its appearance and in its behavior. GEIPAN classifies this case as "B" as a very probable observation of a boat sailing off the coast of Reunion Island.
