both described an orange orb
Garonne (Haute-), France · 2014-09-15 · from the GEIPAN archive
This phenomenon was reported to GEIPAN by two witnesses located in Toulouse and one in Gleize (69). It was recorded by the GEIPAN camera in Toulouse for more than 10 seconds. 7 other testimonies arrived at GEIPAN in the days that followed. (see attached: "summary of observations"). From Toulouse, it was seen crossing the southern horizon, from west to east, at a relatively low elevation (from 10° to 0° according to the GEIPAN camera). It was noticed by many witnesses in the Perpignan region and reported by the local press: New asteroid in the Catalan sky. This phenomenon has all the characteristics of a meteoroid entering the atmosphere (small rocky body in orbit around the Sun). The phenomenon occurred at an altitude of about 60 to 25 km, and it ended its course above the Mediterranean. This fireball lasted a relatively long time, due to its rather grazing trajectory relative to the Earth's surface; the fireball of September 7, on the contrary, had a much steeper trajectory. This is not a reentry of space debris (no known reentry, and speed too high for a debris in Earth orbit). This observation case is very consistent due to multiple testimonies and camera recordings. This case is very unremarkable after analysis. GEIPAN classifies this case as "A": observation of a large fireball, consequence of a meteoroid entering the atmosphere.
