Red lights in Autre, France
On November 2, 2012 at around 11 p.m., three people were intrigued by the passage in the sky, at five-minute intervals, of two balls of red light. These moved slowly toward the sea and disappeared in an upward trajectory. This observation has all the characteristics of Thai lanterns: orange-red lights moving silently at low altitude according to the wind (see Météociel report: light northwest wind), on a weekend evening. The hazy appearance above the lanterns may correspond to vapor emitted by the damp, heated envelope, or to smoke produced by the burner.
