An orange orb in Paris, France

On December 2, 2011, between 9:15 PM and 9:30 PM, a witness at their window observed the passage of a luminous phenomenon in the Parisian sky. A bright point moved rapidly along a straight trajectory. After 5 to 6 seconds, this point ignited and the witness saw an ovoid-shaped object of orange color appear. No trail or halo was noticed. The object then began to turn, hovered, then zigzagged after three turns before departing at slow speed. It was unfortunately hidden by a building. No particular noise was heard. The observation lasted about 20 seconds. Only one testimony was collected. This observation begins like a banal atmospheric reentry of a meteoroid (fireball), but ends in a completely unusual spiral manner, according to a scenario that is completely impossible for a celestial body. At this hour, in this season, very few satellites are visible; the first part of the observation could correspond to the observation of a satellite that temporarily reflects sunlight directly (flare), but the end of the observation does not correspond at all to this hypothesis. One can also consider that these are two independent phenomena, but here again, luminous objects moving in a spiral are extremely rare, especially at this speed. Given the uniqueness of the witness in a highly urbanized area, the consistency of this case is insufficient to characterize such an unusual phenomenon.
