Low rumbling hum. Like machinery off in the distance. I can "feel-hear" it. So when you ask if it's in both ears, that's almost difficult to answer. It's just "there" ... kind of always hum-pulsing. I am SO grateful to have stumbled upon your information when searching the internet late last night looking for answers ... hearing this pulsing hum is a maddening thing, but feeling like I was the only one who could hear it made it so much worse ~ no one else in my household can hear it, nor any of my immediate neighbours, so I finally had to stop asking "can you hear it now" all the time. (I felt like I was the guy on that cell service commercial from years ago "Can you hear it now?! How about now?!?!") Even though I have not found a remedy, it really is a comfort to know that I am not alone in hearing this strange hum
