Loud and extremely low bass. Like a truck idling right outside even when I'm home alone. Gives me a headache and gets extremely annoying. I have to sleep on the couch sometimes because it's loudest in my bedroom yet it's inescapable in there. I suspect the "hum" maybe louder at the townhouse due to construction of a new turn lane and traffic light right nearby. This doesn't explain how I've felt it at other points and places while sick though, or how other people have felt it at all. So ?
