Distant idlling diesel engine The noise is definitely an external source. Would personally like to test with elf and ulf microphones but too costly. Also interested if seismic sensors are picking up any low level murmurs. Considering all my hearing problems I can still hear, and almost feel(with the resonance) the hum very clearly, even with/through the tinnitus.
What they reported
First noticed: 2006
Pitch: @100hz
Loudest: During the night
Where: Equal indoors and outdoors
Symptoms: Ear discomfort (pain, fullness, throbbing), Insomnia, Anxiety, I am certain the low frequency din is a external source.
Changes with weather: No, although unable to hear it when windy or raining, drowned out. But none between summer and winter
What stood out: a low hum
