A low hum in Canada, Saskatoon

It sounds like a low, rumble from a worksite. I used to think it sounded like traffic but it is more a like the sound of large machinery working constantly. I am not actually sure when I started hearing the humming. At least 2 years, but perhaps longer. It has gotten louder recently and bothers me more. We have lived here for at least 10 years and possibly I have heard it for the whole time but it didn't bother me like it does now. I don't know. I don't hear it when we are away and stay at hotels or in some other spot.

Low mechanical hum that is louder in-doors than outdoors. Worse when there is snow in the ground. My theory is that when I am stressed my tempanuc membrane becomes tighter and may pick it up
